We did it. We moved all the way down from Cudjoe Key to fulfill a long-standing dream. A dream I inherited from my mother! We bought my favorite houseboat on Houseboat Row, at Garrison Bight Marina.
This. Neighborhood. Rocks. Actually, literally, it does.
Many creative people here. Musicians, and artists, and makers, and writers, and people who have or do work in film. There's carpenters, and nurses, and charter boat captains, and the folks who work the tourist industry, and at the airport. It's a tight-knit community of people who look out for each other.
We live where colorful fish, manatees, sharks, and sometimes even crocodiles swim right up to our porches. Green herons, white herons, cormorants, and pelicans are hanging around our docks and at Charter Boat Row hoping for a hand-out.
Sure, we need a new roof. Sure, the windows leak. And the hurricane prep is… much more interesting.
But! We get two entire parking spaces! No lie! Who in Key West gets that?
